Lesson Plan (continued)
During the interviews
Pupils continue to interrogate and question characters from the play.
It is suggested that the interrogation of the characters takes place over two sessions.
After the interviews
Allow pupils time and opportunity to collate their information and prepare their report.
Each group should report to the rest of the class detailing who they believe the Scottish Thanes should swear allegiance to.
Their report should include:
- reference to questions and answers
- quotations direct from the text
- an understanding of limitations and other ideas for further exploration
- reference to which questions were chosen and why
- reference to characters and/or questions which were not chosen and why
Conclusion
End the session with the presentations.
Differing conclusions between groups should allow for further debate and discussion. You may wish to provide a spare session for asking any questions that pupils did not cover.
