Creating groups and differentiation Before the interactive activity, decide how you will group your class. Actis suggests that pupils are grouped by mixed ability with 4 - 6 members in each group. Pupils will need to make decisions and then create a report together. Hardware Requirements The class/each group will require access to an Internet-linked computer for the interactive activity sessions. Introduction Distribute copies of the briefing sheet, one to each group. Also have lots of duplicated Interview Record Sheets; each group will need 6 to start with. Each group should fill in the top part of the record sheet including the group username and password. Each group should read their Briefing Sheet and decide which roles to assign to each of the group members (including a computer operator nominee). All of the pupils within the group are responsible for researching and ensuring the Interview Record Sheets are up-to-date and fully complete. Beginning the interviews Each group should have a computer operator nominee (or be taking turns at the computer). Pupils should log on using the username and password assigned to them. They will be given a list of characters available for questioning In their groups, pupils should choose the first character they wish to question. The next screen will present pupils with the choice of questions. Groups should debate and decide which questions to ask. When the first question has been chosen, the answer from the character will be revealed. This message can be printed out or read aloud from the screen (depending on your classroom layout). When the group has put the maximum number of questions to their chosen character, they will then be required to select the next character to question. | ||||||||
